beads, beads, and more beads...
I figure I should start with my most recent memories as they are fresh in my head. My brother, Rodney was married on Saturday, August 20th. Prior to his wedding there were many things to be done. My mom and Aunt Cathy came out early to help me prepare for the wedding, more like help me keep my sanity!
Anyway, part of the decorating called for 50 beaded napkin rings. These napkin rings were made of silver round beads alternating with clear crystal beads on clear, elastic fishing line. Sounds pretty easy, huh? Nope, not easy but quite funny. The thread I picked out was not thin enough to use a needle. So here the three (mom, cathy, me) of us sit, trying to stick alternating beads on flimsy elastic fishing line. Just when you think it can't get anymore difficult, try knotting it. Yep, you guessed it...beads on the floor, but the funny thing is they would disappear under the couch and you couldn't find them. Now remember we had to make 50 of these.
So in honor of this beading task, Aunt Cathy thought we should wear them to the wedding on our fingers... So like a bizarre secret sisterhood we wore these to the wedding!
So what happened to all those beads that disappeared under the couch? Well, I am still finding them every time I vacumm. And the what about the "rings"? Aunt Cathy kept them in her coin purse.
Please post your Aunt Cathy "notes".
